True or false: the suns rays are just as powerful when it is cloudy?

i was trying to get a tan yesterday, but it was really cloudy, and the sun would only shine through every 3 mins. My gma said she heard that you can get some of the worst sunburns when it%26#039;s cloudy. Like the suns rays are more powerful or something. Is this true?
True or false: the suns rays are just as powerful when it is cloudy?

True or false: the suns rays are just as powerful when it is cloudy?
Yes and people think they are less and get burned! its the UVA rays !
Reply:I%26#039;d say false, you may still be able to get sunburned but it wouldn%26#039;t be more powerful. I don%26#039;t see how it would be- the rays are practically being covered %26amp; aren%26#039;t even directly hitting you, when on a sunny day, you can%26#039;t get away from %26#039;em. False.
Reply:yep... the rays can easily get through the clouds even when the light can%26#039;t so you can definately still get a tan even if it%26#039;s cloudy out! also being in a pool helps a lot cause the water reflects a lot of the rays and you can tan really quickly.
